No matter what their age, our loved Ridgebacks always leave us way too soon.  This page is a tribute to the dogs who have been a part of Yandisa Ridgebacks and have now passed on.

Rapidan's Riley "Streets" was my first Ridgeback.  He was bred by Jane & David McMillan and Dudley Hackney.  He was the best ambassador of the Ridgeback breed of any Ridgeback I have had the pleasure of knowing.  He had an inoperable tumor in his neck that was already metastatic by 9 years old and given a few months to live, but lived to over 10 years old, walking 33 acres every day until his last.   Thank you for being the beginning and inspiration for my life with Ridgebacks.  2/89-9/99

"Pierce Arrow," owned by the Demery's of Sulawesi Ridgebacks, was the sire of Disa's 3rd and final litter.  He died of complications from his prostate after the breeding for that litter.  He was one of the most charismatic Ridgebacks of all time both at home and in the show ring.  His legacy lives on in his progeny, as well as his history in the show world.  Pierce was one of those Ridgebacks that you could never forget if you were fortunate to meet him.  10/93-8/03

"Cheeky" from the Disa/Pierce litter died suddenly at 8 months old.  Two necropsies were inconclusive as to cause of death.  He will be in our hearts forever. 10/03-6/04

"Anna" as a baby!

"Anna" from the Disa/Biner litter left us so suddenly and way too soon.  She died before her 6th birthday of lymphoma and was only sick a very short time.  She is terribly missed by all who loved her.  4/01-7/06

DC Nyaka Yandisa of Assegai ROM FCH CGC HIC "Disa," the foundation of Yandisa kennels, died of lymphoma at 9 years old.  Her legacy lives on in the many pages of this website of your puppies and grandpuppies.  A good friend wrote no truer words, "you and Disa were meant for each other."  She changed my life forever and I will miss her every day of my life.  Click on her name or picture to get better acquainted.  7/17/98 - 12/28/07
